1、E。
A-Run-on Sentence
B-'being very ...' is wordy
C-'Since..., so' is unidiom, it seems there is no main clause
D-it seems that the logical subject of 'Being very...' is 'the reason' rather than Charles Lindbergh.

2、D。
Here 'contact' must be noun, so 'directly' used here to modify 'contact' here is wrong, thus A,C,E out. In B, 'it' is unclear. D, the sentence substitutes 'the latter' for 'it', is meaning.

同意bravemba.
1、E: concise and idiomatic
2、D: eliminate ambiguity in proun refering. "by means of " is pertinent and idiomatic.

1. E
2. C
directly through符合原文意思

1 E
2 C  D中direct的修饰对像发生变化,改变原句意思。

Meaning. In my opinion, the meaning of the sentence is "一些独立的Q宣称,通过I体验,同后者有直接的接触", direct or directly, here, modifies 'contact', not the 'through'.

I choose C. If contact is a noun, It should be :
Have a direct contact with the latter or have direct contacts --

1. E
2. D
many individual Quechuans claimed to have contact with it directly with an ichana (dream) experience.
the sentence has ambiguity if "directly" is placed as up-mentioned, "directly" can be treated to modify the verb "have" or preposition phase "with...". So i select choice D.

contact就是communication with each other or touch each other, 为什么还加direct? 难道还有indirect contact? directly through an ichana experience 等于exactly through an ichana experience

很有启发,
提一个问题: 如果出现 to contact directly with 是不是也不对,因为directly即可能修饰contact 也可能修饰 with. 而to directly contact with 则修改了这一毛病?

I prefer C for the second question. People rarely use "direct contact" this way in Northern America. "Direct contact" means a person you can contact for sth. For example, here is a typical conversion:
A guy: I cannot fix this Dell computer, I need to contact the vendor by the toll-free phone.
His supervisor: You don't have to use the phone number. I have the direct contact in Dell, I can give you the name.

no 2 I choose D
I thought c is a obvious pitfall of Ets.cause word "directly" can modify both "through"and "contact" if we choose c .It lead to the dangling modification, which is repeated and empasized many times in OG.

2. D definitely.
C: directly through must modify a verb as adverbial phrase.  So either it modifies claimed(impossible, so get it eliminated) or have, noting that it can't modify contact(noun).
Then it must modify have. Such usage is awkward and illogical.

I prefer d in question 2. Asking an american student here to make sure, she think D is better, but she can not tell why. hehe

D IS CONFORMED
