D.the rate of fatty foods错，不是foods的rate，而应该是consuming foods的rate；consumed in France and the United States错误，应该在the United States前加in，同时主语rate应改为rates，且谓语动词改为are
E.the rate of people错误，不是people的rate，应该是the rate of consumption；同时rate应改为rates，且谓语动词改为复数，在the United States前加in

我选的是D选项，看过解析后也懂了选B；我想问的是：B中的the united states之前不需要加 in吗？有点钻牛角尖，我就是想弄清楚点~~~ 谢谢各位NN们！！！

这种是可以省略的，因为用and连接，即people in France and （people in） the United States，说的是这两个地方的人。

先谢谢了~~ 那请问解析中的DE两个选项，为什么需要加上in 呢？

这么说吧，其实B项应该看成people in (France and the u.s.)，而不是(people in france and the u.s.)，但都不会引起歧义。而DE是讲的两个国家人吃fatty foods的rate，不加in的话，比较对象都不一样

恩，B选项这个懂了，可是DE选项还有点模糊。就是我还是不懂为什么B可以按这样理解，到了DE就需要加上in了！
能不能麻烦再说一下，谢谢了！！！

我觉得其实DE也不是一定需要加IN。DE的错误也不是在IN这里。OG的答案一定对，但是解释未必正确。

如果一定要说，就是加上了更清晰，强调两个RATE（RATE IN US AND RATE IN FR），而RATE IN US AND FR可能被理解为RATE IN US AND FR (TOGETHER）。其实按照同样的理解，B也应该加。所以楼主还是不用纠结这个了。
