求大神们解答。这题答案是D，虽然我也觉得D比其它的好，但是后来看到一个地方我就把它排除了。D中，the kind of fierce intercolony struggles that limit...为何是limit不是limits呢？是the kind of而不是the kinds of呀，所以不应该是单数么？

还是说我压根理解错了，求解答！谢谢！

这是很老的一道争议题了。但从语义上讲，that limit是用来修饰struggles的。因为只有不参加struggles才能限制物种的扩张，修饰kind的话讲不通。

题目分析：
本题虽然划线部分比较长，但是难度不算大，考点较为单一。需要注意的是，选项的最后两个词，有的是that limit，有的that limits，这一点在本题中不是考点。因为，这个定语从句的先行词是the kind of fierce intercolony struggles，无论修饰the kind还是修饰struggles都是一样的。
