我用排除法得到了e，但我不理解 to produce 为什么用来修饰reaction，而不是主语 acid rain and snow。

请教nn

因为语义上不对。先是化学反应制造了强酸，强酸才形成了酸雨。而不是酸雨制造了强酸。

这句话的结构就是acid rain results from sth (sth = the chemical reaction between a and b to produce c)
