根据OG官方的讲解和一些网站上的讲解，我已经知道为什么要选E答案，但是我不理解的是：

1.OG 选项D的解释：

D The only plausible subject for the singular verb indicates is the plural orientation . . . plan, as well as the artifacts. Very little about this sentence makes sense. 他的意思是说indicates 的主语是 the plural orientation . . . plan, as well as the artifacts. 为什么啊？？难道不应该是 a ruined structure ?

2.OG解释 (That a ruined structure was probably . . .) followed by a passive verb (is indicated), followed by the prepositional phrase (by . . .), which is completed by a parallel listing of forms of evidence, 那么 eastward orientation ， its overall plan ， artifacts, 应该平行为什么选项E by its eastward orientation and overall plan, as well as by the中 overall plan 前面不加介词 by

求大神讲解，也希望有想法的G友可以分享一下思路！

D里，indicates是as引导的从句里面的谓语动词，这个从句是一个倒装，主语是eastward orientation and plan,as well as artifacts，所以谓语要用复数形式。其次，当as引导伴随或者原因从句时，从句要是一个完整的句子。这里的as从句里，主干是orientation and plan, as well as artifacts indicates,不make sense，他indicate啥了，你压根说不清楚啊。
E里的平行是这样的：by orientation and (by)plans, as well as by the artifacts. plan的介词因为跟前面的介词一样所以省略了。artifacts的by 为啥没省，是因为artifacts被as well as隔开，是另一个跟plan,orientation平行的evidence,如果省略的话会造成歧义。
