争议题，没有定论。D的for doing不是ETS喜欢的格式，应该算错；C应该在语法上是没有错误的；A的a scale这里不可以作responding的主语，物体是可以作respond的主语，这里逻辑上不对。倾向选C 还原how likely a particular asteroid or comet will be to likely前置，实际应该是how aparticular asteroid or comet will be likely to…

E是绝对不对的，likelihood of a … 改变了句子的意思。

原文from New York Times:

不能做主语

That…developed罗嗦，错

for不能表目的

Of的使用由整体变成了从属，改变了句子结构，错

我自己选了E，不太理解上面的最后一句话，想请教大家句子原意是什么以及变成of之后是什么？

E 肯定是不对的啦 , the likelihood 和 may 语义重复；

develop for doing 是可以用的　
OG 2016 SC 122 题就是例子，所以D是对正确答案

我们来看看这个句子说了啥：1.宇航员开发出来了一个scale.
2.that从句解释了这是一个什么scale：rates the likelihood of aparticular asteroid or comet
可以测特定流星彗星可能性的scale. 喵喵喵？？？？
3.后面又跟了一个that从句解释了这些是什么样的小行星彗星: 可能撞上地球的小行星彗星

事实上咱们测的是小行星，彗星撞上地球的可能性，而不是小行星彗星本身，所以排除E
