Earlyin the twentieth century, Lake Konfa became verypolluted. Recently fish populations haverecovered as release of industrial pollutants has declined and the lake’swaters have become cleaner. Fears arenow being voiced that the planned construction of an oil pipeline across thelake’s bottom might revive pollution and cause the fish population to declineagain. However, a technology forpreventing leaks is being installed. Therefore, provided this technology is effective, those fears aregroundless.

担心管道的安装污染水。
辩护1：安好的管道不会漏油从而导致水体污染
假设了什么呢？
重点是管道的安装会污染水体啊！
