Ron: 'each' CAN do that... but it can also describe something else in the preceding part. as you can see, it's quite flexible.
so, as long as both of the following are true...
1/ the meaning of 'each' is obvious (from common sense + context)
2/ the sentence is actually talking about something that's true for each X separately (i.e., NOT something that they do together, or that's only true of them as a group)
...then 'each' is fine.
