我想问的是，这个插入语in her book illustrations，对后面的coordinating有何作用？可以省略不看吗？因为只有人才能修饰coordinating

你是在说A选项吗？如果不看illustrations的话，那them就没有指代的东西了啊。但是carefully coordinating them with her narratives,又是修饰BP的，所以A中BP之后的两个用逗号隔开的modifiers不clearly.

你是说carefully coordinating them with her narratives修饰in her book illustrations吗？那这样的话逻辑也不通啊。在她书本的插图中，将他们（插图）与叙述结合？应该是在书中，讲插图和叙述结合。

我对E有疑惑。如果them不能指代in的宾语，为什么C选项的which就可以？
曼哈顿第五版指出，object pronouns can be the object of verbs/ pronouns.所以them是可以指代介词短语中的宾语部分。
但是我又感觉这是一个modifier,是可以去掉的部分，them就没有指代的对象了。求解！！！
