(C) twice those the 1977 survey reported

请解释一下c选项。我的理解：those指代前面的adults

个人觉得前面percent of young adults表示的是一个数字the number，不能用 those指代

those是代替前面複數名詞，前面只有adults是複數，所以those是指代adults沒錯
但是因為句意不合理
所以twice those/ doubling those都是錯誤選項
