Although the initial setup of generators and a power grid by Edison and JP Morgan was rather costly, the electrification of lighting in lower Manhattan doubled work efficiency when the energy costs were cut in half.

我选的E 感觉 lighting electrification，costs while 前后平行，而且时态也平行 doubled 和 were cut
答案选B 是不是while 有什么特殊的用法，请解释下E为什么不好，谢谢

这题的选的是A。。。
曼哈顿语法里面，如果一个词有名词形式，就不应该用动名词，所以我先排除了CDE。
然后，我记得WHILE后面要接一整个句子，所以排除了B，选的A。
我现在不明白A错在哪？
并且，B到底是个什么结构，我在语法书里没有看到。
求指点。

（1）GMAT 遵循相同情况下，被动比主动abundance；
（2）E选项我觉得可以用平行排除， although noun+verbed, noun +verbed的形式，但E是动名词短语作主语，有ABC的绝对平行，肯定绝对平行更好.
(3)A, C使用被动语态，RON之前说过，被动语态表示不知道是谁做的，但是这题的逻辑表明electrification in lower M 导致的.
这道题比较谁更好就好了~不要纠结谁对
