答案是B，但than后面是不是缺了比较对象？而且破折号是啥意思？

The use of the dash in this sentence does not make any sense to me either. Isn't E better?

据XDF的说法，than属准关系代词，可以省略所联从句的主语。破折号起补充说明作用。I CHOOSE B。

I didn't realise that there had been so many discussions before. But still, I have not found anything among them that is convincing enough for me to choose B instead of E. The dash still looks awkward. Fingers crossed that I won't meet anything like this during the test. Otherwise, I will have to flip a coin.
