Prices at the producer level are only 1.3 percent higher now than a year ago and are going down, even though floods in the Midwest and drought in the South are hurting crops and therefore raised corn and soybean prices.

og解释比较对象为“between such prices now and those of a year ago”
为什么此处必须是price的比较不能单纯比较时间now和a year ago呢？
困扰了好久
恳请各位发表下自己的看法

我觉得这里完全是可以比的而且OG也有类似的句子， OG 104题：

Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last because refiners are paying about $5 a barrel more for crude oil than they were last year.

A项主要还是错在时态，我觉得比较没问题，也没歧义

因为题目中说1.3 percent higher,所以比较的是price，不是时间

楼上的题目意思是，预计价格今年比去年高，所以比较的是时间

不同意 1.3 percent higher 指的也是价格今年比去年高，而不是价格自己比自己高1.3%. 两个句子结构完全相同：
90： Price (modifier) are 1.3 percent higher now than a year ago.
104: Price are (expected to be) higher this year than last year.

1.3 percent higher是指今年的价格比去年的价格高，是今年的价格和去年的价格在比，是两个不同的价格在比

OG解释：The sentence as written makes an illogical comparison between prices at the producer level and a time period (a year ago); surely the intended comparison is between such prices now and those of a year ago.
不是说这个比较是不对的吗？是我没理解对吗？
还请NN帮解释下

不过这和og解释有矛盾呀。。

OG的解释有时候也不一定完美吧我觉得楼主不用过分纠结这个点了毕竟A有其他明显的错误可以排除

RON could be wrong though. GMAT's comparison has a higher standard with regard to parallelism, which mean "now" could not be paralleled with "a year ago"; We could make things a little messier by stating that "last" could refer to “last year's crude oil price”

我认为A就是错在了没有补充helping word，没有重复v来说明时态的不同，前半句如果写成Prices at the producer level are only1.3 percent higher now than they were a year ago就没问题了。b中通过those of巧妙地把比较对象变成了prices之间的比较，就如同a is higher than b（虽然有时间标志，但是这个时间标志是在those of里面的，成为了比较主体的一部分，所以不用补出were了）。ron的理论应该还是没错的。只是现在这题越来越tricky
