标题: 做GWD遇到的关于numbers与number的困惑！
In 1914 a total of 469,000 cars and trucks were produced in the United States, but in 1929 almost twice the numbers of tucks alone came off the assembly lines.

A.the numbers of tucks alone
B.that number of trucks alone
C.the number of trucks by themselves
D.as many trucks themselves
E.as many trucks by themselves

这道题选B（不明白为什么可以用that)，而解释说A错的原因是因为numbers不对，简直懵逼，因为我昨天刚做过一个：

In Scotland, the number of wild salmon have been reduced because of uncontrolled deep-sea and coastal netting, by pollution, and by various other threats to the fish’s habitat.

A.number of wild salmon have been reduced because of uncontrolled deep-sea and coastal netting
B.number of wild salmon is reduced because deep-sea and coastal netting is not controlled
C.numbers of wild salmon has been reduced because of uncontrolled deep-sea and coastal netting
D.wild salmon’s numbers are reduced by deep-sea and coastal netting that is not controlled

这道题正确答案是E

为什么numbers一下对，一下不对，求各位小伙伴帮忙看下！

个人观点
第一题由as many应该接as，排除d e
在a b c 中，我觉得排除的主要依据应该是the与that的区别，that是表示前面所提名词的“copy”,只能指之前的469000(1914的数据)，而the的话，会有歧义，我们一般说A is twice the number of B，但a c的表述方式并不是这样，排除a c

第二题
由主谓一致排除A C，然后由句意排除B(不可能是pollution controll the deep-sea and costal netting
剩下的D E都是numbers，只是句子结构完全不同，D中的by pollution and by...是that 从句的部分，而E中的by pollution and by...是整体句子并列结构的部分，与by uncontrolled...平行，从句意可以排除D

回答题主的疑问，我认为numbers 和 number的区别不能作为排除选项的标志，事实上the number of ....和 the numbers of... 的用法都存在，比如在曼哈顿SC 6th中70页最下方有例句“The rare Montauk beaked griffin is not extinct; its NUMBERS are now suspected to be much greater than before”，可见numbers是可以用的。

第一题！！！来，就给你说一个事，楼上，额~~~~~~
the number of A=A's numbers
the numbers of A表示的意思是：数字位数，the numbers of your telephone number，手机号码的位数。
原题A选项，the numbers of sth，看到没，多了个s.the numbers of与the number of天上地下哈
然后c， trucks by themselves came off the assembly line，开车自己从组装线上下来的？？

然后楼上对于as many的判断方法，额，太形式了。as many表示等同于前面出现的具体数字，不一定非得出现as as结构，但D和E怎么错的呢？
前面是469,000 cars and trucks，后边是twice as many trucks，看到没？
举例来说，你有50块大白兔和金丝猴，我有的糖块是你的金丝猴的2倍？what？！！！我哪知道你有多少金丝猴啊！！！
