A recent study has found that within the past few years,many doctors.had elected early retirement rather than face the threats of lawsuits and the rising costs of malpractice insurance.

Ahad elected early retirement rather than face
Bhad elected early retirement instead of facing
Chave elected retiring early instead of facing
Dhave elected to retire early rather than facing
Ehave elected to retire early rather than face

答案选E。解释上说因为平行的内容是elect后面的内容平行。楼主选的A。为什么不能是elect和face平行呢？另外根据时态，在过去发现，那么过去的过去放生的事情不应该用过去完成时吗？哪位大神能解答一下啊！感激不尽

楼主似乎有点钻牛角尖了，看到rather than这种平行标志肯定首选平行的时态啊！
过去完成式和一般现在时怎么平行呢？

主句has found是现在时，那说明within the past few years的时间轴是从现在算起的过去几年内，后面用现在完成时能说通吧？
