A museum has been offered an undocumented statue, supposedly Greek and from the sixth century BC. Possibly the statue is grenuine but undocumented because it was recently unearthed or because it has been privately owned.However, an ancient surface usually has uneven weathering , whereas the surface of this statue has the uniform quliaty characteristically produced by a chemical bath used by forgers to imitate a weathered surface. Therefore,the statue is pribably a fogery

D为何不对呢,我看了相关连接,好象说的不太清楚

D： forgers have no technique that can convincingly simulate the patchy weathering characteristic of the surfaces of ancient sculptures.而题目中说到the surface of this statue has the uniform quliaty characteristically produced by a chemical bath used，也就是说this statue并没有the patchy weathering characteristic of the surfaces，这样D也就不构成削弱了，我认为是无关选项。

其实我也是今天做到这题没有做对，但是我想如果好好看看OG的解释应该是很有帮助的。

结论是这个物品可能是假的。B选项说这个物品有6世纪希腊东西的特征，但真货和假货都可能有这些共同的特征，B起不到削弱的作用。

D.因为原文中的whereas说明statue不是Uneven的!

那么D中说的patchy weathering characteristic就和它无关了。

7楼说的很明确，题干中说this statue has the uniform quliaty ，所以D选项中说造假者没有能力造成patchy weathering characteristic ，与该statue的uniform quliaty 没有关系。
