我完全理解one of which will receive...是修饰groups的，这种修饰性的句子是怎么要求的？而且这不成了两个句子并列了么？中间不加个and 么？

呃，不是，这里one of which 是subgroup modifier.

one of which, 这里which 指代的是groups, 这种情况下是从句所以不用连词。
