dear all, 想询问关于Manhattan对C的解释： Resulting from 在这里只能是形容词的性质。Anyone can elaborate a little bit?
或者，C改成years, resulted from the removal of，是正确的？？

1、resulting作形容词的意思是，只修饰它左面的名词。其用法类似于based on/caused by。

2、一般“逗号+Ving”作状语修饰左面句子的主语和整个句子。这里如果“逗号+resulting”修饰主语，那rabbit population results from这个说法也不合逻辑吧。

3、改成resulted也不行，过去分词也是作形容词，直接修饰左面的名词。
这题中，整个“population has increased”主句是一个结果，选项中只有as可以修饰整个句子，因此用as a result。

不行啊，改resulted后主语缺失。resulted是个动词，前面没有主语。

C和DE类似都是做形容词成分，只能修饰一个或者多个词，而不是一个句子。
也就是说 NOUN+result from...; 主谓宾+as a result of
C改成
The cottontail rabbit population in Orange County, California, has increased unchecked in recent years； the increase is resulting from the removal of the native fox population and the clearing of surrounding woodlands.
就对了。
