On a glacier in the High Himalayas, a Japanese zoologist has found a species of midge that is unlike any other known insect in its spending its entire life cycle in the snow and ice of a glacier.

A that is any other known insect in its spending

In its spending的结构不一定是错的，但是此处语意不明。两种用法，一种指这种insect和其它的不一样，这也是原文所需含义。但是这里的用法明显指这种insect在spending这行为上和其它的不一样，扭曲了原文意思。

B that is unlike any insect known as it spends

必需用any other insect。

C that, unlike any other known insect, spends

D unlike any insect known because it spends

E unlike any other insect that is known, spending

正确答案是C。但是不理解E为什么错？

答案解释是that is多余，加入之后spending像是修饰Japanese zoologist。

可是即使此处spenging从句试图发挥作为整个前句a Japanese zoologist...的effect或result的功能也是不可行的啊？因为未划线部分是its entire life cycle，动物学家是人。

求解？

1) ...midge that 后面应该跟一句句子你的E选项缺少谓语动词
2)我做这题是觉的 any other insect that is known 可以简化成为 any other known insect

1.E的句意是：因为Japanese Zoologist spend its entire lifecycle in the snow and ice...所以他has found a specie of midge unlike any other insect that is known..

2.B的归因是错的，unlike any known不是特别清晰，但是也不是绝对能够rule out的点，这句最重要的问题是用as连接了一个句子，这种是原则性错误

3.你的排版比较惨，自己的笔记和原题混在一起，还有打错打漏的，你完全可以在这方面做得更好一点。
