标题: 急问like 和just like

jj里提到有考like和just like。没找到这类题目和贴子。好象印象中og里有道题是说just like不对,like本身就是强对比的意味,不需要just,也就是说just在这里多余。也不知道对不对?时间紧迫!!!

哪位牛人提供点线索,题目?谢谢啦!

help from non-NN

91.   Like many self-taught artists, Perle Hessing did not begin to paint until she was well into middle age.

(A) Like

(B) As have

(C) Just as with

(D) Just like

(E) As did

Choice A, the best answer, is concise and grammatically correct, using the comparative preposition like to express the comparison between many self-taught artists and Perle Hessing. Choices B and E, which replace A’s prepositional phrase with clauses introduced by as, use auxiliary verbs that cannot properly be completed by any part of the verb phrase in the main clause: neither have... did not begin nor did... did not begin is logically or grammatically sound. In C and D, Just as with and Just like are both unnecessarily wordy.

好像没说强对比的问题;我的理解是:like表示“像”时,like比just like简洁。

呵呵,刚刚看过这道题,说说俺的想法吧。

这道题的考点是“比较结构”

我认为主要是区分,like 和 as 的用法。

1、like(介)+名词,表示比较,侧重同类事物的比较;

2、as/just as(连)+句子,表示比较,强调动作的相似性

此外,just like 较like 语气强烈,且不简洁。

thanks a lot! then when can we use "just like"? or we can't use just to modify like in the comparision situation?

我觉得just like和like的语气不同,语气是GMAT的一个重要考点,不能轻易改变,就像only,often,even,whatever...一样

但是just like和like在意思上有什么不同,,,偶不是NN,就不知道了

斑竹呢?

Some of just's definitions may help clarify it,

1. [adv]  by a small margin; "they could barely hear the speaker"; "we hardly knew them"; "just missed being hit"; "had scarcely rung the bell when the door flew open"; "would have scarce arrived before she would have found some excuse to leave"- W.B.Yeats
2. [adv]  and nothing more; "I was merely asking"; "it is simply a matter of time"; "just a scratch"; "he was only a child"; "hopes that last but a moment"
3. [adv]  only a moment ago; "he has just arrived"; "the sun just now came out"
4. [adv]  indicating exactness or preciseness; "he was doing precisely (or exactly) what she had told him to do"; "it was just as he said--the jewel was gone"; "it has just enough salt"
5. [adv]  (intensifier) absolutely; "I just can't take it anymore"; "he was just grand as Romeo"; "it's simply beautiful!"
