this newspaper cost 50 cent more than that one. (正确)
this newspaper cost 50 cent as much as that one.(错误)
之前看到版主说as much as在此处可能修饰 50 cent 也可能是 cost所以这样使用就是错误的。
那么问题有两个：
一个是第一句话中 more than 后面为什么可以直接加that one？ 难道more than 就不会犯 as much as一样的错误吗？
第二个问题是：
是不是我把as much as的那句话改成如下形式就是对的，还是说这个错误不在我说的点子上？

楼主本人的理解是，下面这句话即使加了did仍然还是错的
this newspaper cost 50 cent as much as that one did.
理由，在manhattan的书中讲过，as... as的比较是倍数之间的比较，前面应该加times这类词，如果是加一个数字的话，这个比较doesn't make sense，因为要表达花费相同的话，直接用as much as就好了，前面还加上个数字，会让人感觉句意在于比较多或少。
最好的修改方法是把as much as改成 more than，后面的that one 其实不需要加did.
还有第二种修改方法，就是，既然想突出数字，也想表达as much as的意思，不妨在as much as 前面加逗号。
this newspaper cost 50 cent, as much as that one.变成这个形式
那变成这个形式之后是不是that one 可以省略did呢？
还请NN解答，我的想法是不是对的
