in size, less distinctive, and less in demand.

根据OG解释,E选项错入原因是:The series of phrases following making them lacks appropriate parallelism.不是特别理解,是说跟后面的 less distinctive, and less in demand.不平行吗?
还有D选项的smaller怎么就是平行的了?求大神解答

我也整理到了这一题,在网上找到了解释:
this good question is typical of gmat one, basic and hard.
gmat want us to write grammatically and logically. we check grammar first
"which"in A has no logic referent
"made them" in B is not coordinated. we need "and". this error is easy to realize. that is why I tell you check grammar minor error first.
"it"in B is redandant. we do not need "it"
check meaning logic
when you see split between "and do" and "comma+doing" ask yourself what meaning is more logic. 'and do" show an action separate and dependent from previous action
"comma+doing" shows an action which is created by the previous action or is happening simultaneously with previous action. in other words, "comma+doing" modify entire previous clause
process of considering which meaning is more logic is hard for us. This is typical of gmat test. who can realize the logic is successful. you need to practice more to react to no-logic things than to react to ungrammatical element. Quantitative section test numerical logic and verbal section tests non-numerical logic.
It is more logic to mean that ALTERING CONTENT create ROBING. D and E are left.
"decrease in size" is wordier than "smaller". D is left
you can realize that to increase speed and confidence, allway check grammar first. Second, check meaning logic. Third, check style or more simply, check wordiness. The logic of this order is that gmat want a sentence grammatical and logic before a sentence consice.

E选项是decrease in size 错了,和后面没有构成平行。
拆分句子可以看出后面是 making them .... less distinctive, and less in demand, 在这个结构中需要插入与之平行的element,decrease in size, 尺寸变小,改成 smaller
这样 making them smaller,less distinctive, and less in demand 意思不变但是结构平行了。
