Guidebook writer: I have visited hotels throughout the country and have noticed
that in those built before 1930 the quality of the original carpentry work is
generally superior to that in hotels built afterward. Clearly carpenters working on
hotels before 1930 typically worked with more skill, care, and effort than
carpenters who have worked on hotels built subsequently.

argument?
(A) The quality of original carpentry in hotels is generally far superior to the

D Correct. This weakens the reasoning in the argument by showing a
respect in which the comparison between existing hotels is
unrepresentative.说D说明了对比对象不具有代表性，但是D不是说carpentry的质量越好，这个建筑就越不容被闲置或者拆除吗？这和不具有代表性有什么关系啊 TAT，原文并没有暗示他参观的都是闲置和被拆除的hotels啊（被拆除还怎么参观啊）

果因推理找削弱：

前提（果）：1930年以前的hotel的 carpentry work比1930年以后的好
结论（因）：1930以前的 carpentry work的手工好

样本的代表性：而是因为手工不好的都被拆除了，留下的都是手工好的，所以自然跟1930年以后的（包括好的和不好的）比，自然手工好很多。是因为样本本身就不代表1930年以前所有hotel的手工，而只是手工好的那些hotel的手工。
打个比方：

你说马云是中国人，王健林也是中国人；因为马云和王健林都比平均的美国人有钱，所以中国人都比美国人有钱。对吗？

我明白了！我读错题比较错对象了！我拿hotel来比，其实是在比carpenter‘s work！

D说明了不是1930以前的Carpentry work更好，而是只有那些好的还在。所以样本不具备代表性。
