正确答案为A，不明白recent extended sales SLUMP和 recently extended sales slump有什么区别？为什么选A不选B.

选A不选B的原因有两个：一个是这里修饰的是后面的sales slump, 是名词，因此这里只能用adj.即recent而非recently;另外B最大的问题在于时态。从后面的the seven-store retailer said it would...可以看出这个句子是用过去时写的，那么many problems后面肯定是要过去的过去，接had been。
