标题: LSAT-7-4-4(不好意思比较白痴的问题哈)
4. Our tomato soup provides good nutrition: for instance, a warm bowl of it contains more units of vitamin C than does a serving of apricots or fresh carrots!

The advertisement is misleading if which one of the following is true?

(A) Few people depend exclusively on apricots and carrots to supply vitamin C to their diets.

(B) A liquid can lose vitamins if it stands in contact with the air for a protracted period of time.

(C) Tomato soup contains important nutrients other than vitamin C.

(D) The amount of vitamin C provided by a serving of the advertised soup is less than the amount furnished by a serving of fresh strawberries.

(E) Apricots and fresh carrots are widely known to be nutritious, but their contribution consists primarily in providing a large amount of vitamin A, not a large amount of vitamin C.

答案是E。

我觉得E是没什么问题,但是A也说得过去亚

misleading 是强调广告的误导性.A不能表达这个意思.

The advertisemenst appears in the form of argument. It can be broken down into the following:

Premise: The product advertised contains more Vitamin C than does a or c.

Conclusion: The product is of good nutrition.

Defects in the argument:

(1)The conclusion goes beyond the scope of its premise;

(2)The subjects chosen to compare with the product cannot prove to be valid.

When I read the question stem, I ask myself "Is it true that more Viatimin A means more nutiritious, what about other viatimins?" No definition of "good nutrition" is stated. Therefore, the argument could be misleading if apricots and carrots contain other things relating to nutrition such as viatimins other than A or minerals. If that happens, you will be absolutely confused about what brings more nutrition - Viatimin A, C or something else?
