错误：comma splice，就是说前面主句the pilot Jacqueline Cochran held seventeen official national and international speed records中有了主语pilot之后，后面从句不能再出现主语she，像A选项这样的句子叫comma splice，详情请看prep2008正文第25页，pdf文档第40页第189题。comma splice简单就是：主语+谓语.... , and+(连接词）+相同主语，就是从句主语和主句主语一样并且前面有逗号和连词。所以这里必须删去”，and she"才对。此外to be 在这里有目的的意思，就是说为了飞很多在设计上危险的飞机等等

(B) earning them at a time that aviation was still so new for many of the planes she flew to be
earning在这里做伴随状语修饰前文的谓语held，在正确的情况下，这种情况必须在两个情况下才能成立：一，earning是held的结果，二，earning是held同时发生的，显然这里都不是这种情况所以不能用earning修饰held。详情请看prep2008第188题。to be同A。

(C) earning these at a time where aviation was still so new that many of the planes she flew were

earned在这里作定语修饰前面的record。你可以想象成records（没逗号) that she earned...
此外 so +adj+such+that 错误，要删除such

简单地说前面主句的主语和后面从句的主语一样，并且两个句子被逗号和连词连着这样的句子叫comma splice，按照题意删去逗号and和蛇后变成earn修饰谁的问题，如果是earning，那么它是状语修饰前面动词held，前提是earn必须是held的结果或者同事和held发生。剩下的earned就是定语修饰名词record，这里具体地省略了一些词，可能是records（ that she） earned........我也不清楚，同问。

关于A的解释就不对啊，两个句子中间用and连接了，所以错的不是这一处
