该题目中有词组“spends beyonds its means" ,spend不是及物动词吗,为什么之后加了介宾短语beyonds its means,谢谢!

希望大家都来讨论呀,是否此问题太简单了,spend beyond its means 该如何翻译呢,spend 在在我印象中好像只能做及物动词呀,请nn讲解一下它的用法吧

beyond( one's )means是一个固定表达方式,意思是“入不缚出”,“超过某人的财力”。这里加上spend,应该上说政府的开支大于收入,跟前面说的政府里有waste想对应。

在谈到钱的时候,spend也可做VI的。这个MM可以查查词典。
