研究生阶段对globle marketing 和branding很感兴趣，硕士论文也是这方面的。但是营销领域变化很快，而且导师曾经说，国外研究的很多方向国内很少涉及，比国内要先进很多。比如maryland就会更倾向于高科技领域，所以喜欢招理工科背景的学生。
希望以后研究的方向能够比较有实用价值，和实践贴近，不知道那些方向是这样的？我没有理工科背景，一直在学经济方面的，不过数学也不会太差，学习能力是有的。
consumer bahavior, modelling, manegirial decision making, basiclly. You should do the research by yourself. Check the schools' website, especially the ongoing reserach those professors are doing now. Internation marketing is not a independent subfield in a academic sense. Brand, also depends on what kind of reserach you want to do.
Nowadays marketing professors like econ background applicants, especially in top schools. Good luck
