标题: 从LSAT1-4-23想到的

LSAT中有很多的REASONING PARRALLEL的题,不知这种题一般要从和入手????????

23. Just as a bicycle chain may be too tight, so may one’s carefulness and conscientiousness be so tense as to hinder the running of one’s mind.

Which one of the following most closely parallels the reasoning used in the argument above?

(A) Just as a clock may be wound too tightly, so may one’s time be spent fruitlessly in the pursuit of perfection

(B) Just as a carousel may spin too quickly, so may one’s rapid concentration on several problems prevent a resolution of difficulties.

(C) Just as a machine may be oiled too much, so may one’s heavy drinking of alcoholic beverages lead to complete dissipation

(D) Just as a raging river may be frozen into stillness during the winter, so may one’s career falter at certain times of the year

(E) Just as a boxer may become too tense before a big fight, so may one’s personal concerns stand in the way of professional success

These are a few areas you can compare from the stem to the answer when solving this type of questions:

1. Validity: if the stem is valid, answer has to be valid; if stem is not valid (which shall be stated clearly in the stem that it is not valid), answer has to be invalid too;

2. Conclusion: the conclusion has to be pararrelled, if the coclusion in the steam contains a condition structure, answer has also have to have a condition; sometimes, look for same things like "some", "might", "must", or "will" in both the stem and answer; however, just because they have the same tense or adv. do not guarantee it is a right answer;

3. Premise: premise shall have the same logic structure, if sufficient A to necessary B in stem, answer shall have the same; if it is contrapositive in steam, answer shall be the same; if it is A tuichui (pinyin) B and C, answer shall have the same; if stem contains Mistaken Negation or Mistaken Reverse, answer shall have the same structure.

4. General understanding to see if the answer makes sense. For instance, the above question, E seems to be right to me. If you use the method TECHNICALLY without understanding it, no answer seems to be wrong.
