2. 你改过的Ｄ，By studing ..., scientists begin ... 强调的重心是 scientists 如何如何。 E 强调的是 the study 的功能如何如何。不过，你改过的 D 结构更清晰了。

A. 我觉得语法没有问题，但是被动不好。

B. 被动不好，另外不该添加原文没有的possible这个意思。而by the study of the fruit fly和形式主语it不存在不搭配的错误。

请NN指教！！！

A的表達很awkward. 正常的用法: something/someone enables someone to do something.
B的"a household nuisance and also a time-honored experimental subject"會被看成it的同位語(當然, 邏輯上不是). "by the study..."應該沒問題 -- 做狀語.
