Q27:
Of the cans of peaches inspected yesterday at a certain plant, 1.5 percent failed to pass inspection. Of the cans that failed inspection,
(1) 450 of the cans of peaches inspected yesterday at the plant failed to pass inspection.
(2) 29,550 of the cans of peaches inspected yesterday at the plant passed inspection.
A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

Agree with LS on the answer, but not the calculation on (2).
Basically, the question is: can we find the TOTAL numbers of cans inspected.
1) 450/(1.5%)=30,000; so there are a total of 30,000 cans; then find the number of dented (30,000*1.5%*1/6)
2) 29,500=(1-1.5%)=30,000; same as statement one.
Two statements are telling us the same thing. So D.
Hope it's correct.
