标题: 问一道考试的时候遇到的题目
最近参加GMAT考试时，有道题我觉得没有什么把握，请各位朋友一起讨论一下。题目不全，请谅解。

在20世纪，世界上出现了许多国家。这样的结果导致了，most countries in the world have less population ( than is in ) the state of Massachusetts.

A、than is in B、than

其他的选项被我用correctiveness排除了，因为考虑到B有歧义（导致than most countries have the state of Massachusetts），我就选了A，尽管A不平行，我想撞上个什么习语用法的

。但我现在觉得A比B更不好。当然如果有than do我肯定会选than do了。

我想我可能做错了。能不能把A理解为than is the population in the the state of Massachusetts？
