标题: 关于evolve的用法 OG SC4请教
新人贴，请各位指导。

新版OG SC第四题中涉及到了evolve的用法

The voluminous personal papers of Thomas Alva Edison reveal that his inventions typically sprang to life not in a flash of inspiration but evolved slowly from previous works.
　　(A) sprang to life not in a flash of inspiration but evolved slowly
　　(B) sprang to life not in a flash of inspiration but were slowly evolved
　　(C) did not spring to life in a flash of inspiration but evolved slowly
　　(D) did not spring to life in a flash of inspiration but had slowly
　　(E) did not spring to life in a flash of inspiration but they were slowly evolved

C选项的结构最整齐，所以选择C。

但是这里我产生了一个疑问，为什么evolve这个词在做his inventions evolved from...的时候，是主动语态不是被动语态。evolve这个词可以有被动语态吗？如果可以用，什么样的情况时被动呢？

同问evolve的用法。

我的理解是evolve就是主动用法，没有被动用法。没有被xxx来进化一说，如果错了请指正。

evolve可以有主动也可以有被动，这里要看句意

his inventions typically did not spring to life in a flash of inspiration but evolved slowly from previous works.

他的发明都不是灵光一闪出现在生活中，还是从之前的发明中发展过来的

所以这里evolve 和 spring 都是主动，强调的是动作本身。如果是被动语态，一般强调的是动作的执行者（爱迪生），但是这里显然想强调的是新发明是以往的发明的积累沉淀。
