We can learn without teacher, but the college cannot.
Teacher’s job is to light the power in the students.  The students need to have some software—this is the college’s job
Thinking is a skills. You learn thinking trough a person, repetition, or practitioner. Tailored lesson can work better.

In class, the lecture is better than institution. The class should be seminars.
Professor’s job is to focus on the discussion and ask questions.

The professor should have some questions that he doesn’t know. Should be open-minded
Professor’s reward: can learn from new people.

College teaching can be a difficult process. The professor need to know students individually.
The students want to be challenged and cared about.--- mentorship. Other cultures recognize the importance of mentor, but American doesn’t --- possessive feeling and jealous about the impact.

A way; only talk about the work – this is a common misconception. Advisor/ teacher should help the students to know themselves. Help the students to understand, make choice and take responsibilities.

L:students like to go to those who have connection with them. Learning need intellectual intimacy. Student and teacher are bond in lifetime.

“Becoming Freud’ = a biography of F, actually it is a revisionist history of F. it include its goal
P= famous psychoanalyst: editor of F translations.
P like F , cite F but P cite F like himself.
The reason of that:  the absent story of F.  P don’t believe in the common story type, he believe the best biography for F is the psychoanalysis. When you read the story, you real what you want.

P think psychoanalysis as a ambivalent preson. F as outsider and identify the lawlistness. F encourage value amibition but address the people who lose everything.

F= scientist with artist temperant—a doctor of split personality.
F didn’t resolve his contraction , he use it to invent psychoanalysis.
Eg: 18C, F define C in 2 ways.

Big ide of “ becoming F”: see psychoanalysis as communication rather than a cure. It help people to speak out themselves. It is arellbition of the modern medication. Its patients suffer psycho things like an art.F become the best listener.

P write these things and leave out that F= scientist.  P nearly quote F in P’s series.

My opinion: P is right to focus on the best [part of F. P: F is a victim of his own success:  F discuss unciousiouce.

Our era: thinks f as a translator rather than a doctor.  It is a little irresponsible of the biography.
P: we see things sponsored by blind spot. What we don,’t know let us know more.
P gives not a complete F, but we see what we need.

You need to have a good teacher to learn well. Teaching is not an engineer problem and thinking is a skill.

Seminar is better than Distance-class and sometimes teachers can receive fresh idea through seminar.

Teachers should try to know individuals ,while students want the mentorship such as challenges from teachers and influence of teachers.

Timer2 teaching is just not like engineeing that you can transfer things from this side to the other side. Teaching means lead forth,like computers ,for example if you want to transfer your knowledge or skills to the other computers you should install the software first ,out mind or our thinking act like a software, but installing software in our head is not as easy as in computer. our mind is just like our hands that you can use them to do loads of things, but you should first to learn how to use your hands, which is like education that  if we want to learn something ,we should learn how to learn first.
