The guest shared his opinion on various reasons of big corporation slowing down growth in emerging market.
First, macro envioronment influenced, such as capital control in China,hot money in and out in India.
Second, some giants focused more on execution than strategy. And some faded out for not reason.For example,BYD overinvested and grew aggresively but met many challenges now. But Great Wall has gradually grown to be domestic leading player and expanded global market.
The guest gave some advice to the big companies:know where you are, what the objective is and keep the balance between growth and profit.
The problems in China also exist in other emerging markets. But international companies can not undermine the advantage of local ones. The experienced people in local companies adapt local market and navigate much better than the those in multinational companies.
The guest suggest companies should be flexible and open-minded at first, then transition themselves in certain focus area.

Though there are many news about slowing down of the emerging market, China is a total exemption. That's because, unlike other countries(eg. India), whose economy is largely depend on the flowing in&out of hot money, China's economy is more policy driven.

Transitions period posed great challenges for large domestic companies. Even though those companies are ponieering their domestic markets, they face fierce competition from maturer multinational gaint with more resources.

BYD is a very good example. It has a bold plan to be a global player in year 2025, yet confronted with intense challenges at this moment. Contrastivelly, the Greatwall, another domestic auto-maker holds a relatively gradual and deliberate growth plan.

Four development stages for large companies in domestic markets: seize the  moment;build strength; consolidate;move up.

For other companies which are still domestic, they should be aware of their situations--their own abilities,industry situation, country's situation,etc. Admittedly, China's situation can also be applied into other developing countries.

In terms of whether the application of mature multinational corporation will hinder the development of companies from emerging market, the author believes the capability outweighs any other opportunistic matters. That is both the internal and external capability of companies that want to go global are the determinator.

Time 2:  1'43'' Great leaders inspire. They will usually create a vision for those their followers, letting them buy in and making them believe that we are all in this together.

Time 3: 1'29'' Detailed process for creating a sense of in this together: Step 1. Making a well directed plan; Step 2. Directing staffs through. Step 3. Create and reward collectiveness.  Well, to make employees stick to it, leaders must: First of all, communicate on time and effectively.  

Time 4:1' 03'' Secondly, to involve every memebr of a team in that action. But remeber, really involvement should not be said but be exhibited. Last but not least, making no excuses for any undertaking.  This formular is fairly simple, but it takes effort to really put them into reality. However, it is worthwhile to make an attempt for as John Quincy Adams says, "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. "

Time 5: 1'42'' Managers bascially have very limited understanding about their remote coworkers. That is no a good phenomenon because, as the business world is more interwoverned with each other, it would be very necessary that we understand our remote team-workers' strength and expertise, thus their values can be fully realized.

Time 6: 1'07'' How to achieve that? Well, first of all, you should create a virtual meeting to have each member involved in and then let people know each other. In the next phase, it would be very important to step out of the meeting and let those members lead that meeting. Provactive questions would be very contributive in this process. Generally speaking, to help each member understand other remote team-members is a critical leadership ability.
