nnm, here it is: http://www.insead.edu/campaign/news_info/news_archive.htm#artcenter 19 April 2005: INSEAD teams up with leading design school One of the Campaign's first gifts has now reached fruition, with the creation of a partnership between INSEAD and Art Center, a design college based in Pasadena, California, and one of the world's leading schools for art and design. The connection came about through alumnus Heinrich Baumann (MBA'72), who is an honorary trustee of Art Center. He is also a member of the INSEAD Switzerland Council and the International Council (as well as the donor who enabled INSEAD to produce its award-winning Campaign literature). With this earlier gift, Heinrich Baumann kindly provided funding to support a pilot scheme bringing INSEAD and Art Centre together. As a result, eight students from Art Center arrived in Fontainebleau at the beginning of January, with Maureen Thurston Chartraw, Adjunct Associate Professor in Design Management. They have now taken part in a range of MBA courses, including Manuel Sosa's Strategic Product and Service Design elective. This new venture provides an extraordinary opportunity for both INSEAD and Art Center students to share ideas and learn from each other. Art Center students bring the design strategy to a business concept, giving inspiring and creative insights to a project which at first may have only been tackled from a purely business angle. INSEAD students will now have the chance to go to California in May, when they'll visit the school and various design studios with which Art Center works. And the initial pilot has been so successful that next year's programme is being planned already!
