3. A 错选 D  重点判断 live in cypress, wholly dependent on, their coloring三者的关系 - 应该是平行,所以形式应该一致;此外所有选项的比较部分都是coloring 去比,因此被比较部分也应该是coloring,所以只有BD符合

5. A 错选 C  首先分析句子的核心:intake of E increase the risk
B - 句子中缺少 in exceed of that found 中 that 的指代对象,exceed的宾语应该是一个数量类的词,但前文中没有
C - 基本同B,taken in excess of a diet,exceed 的宾语应该是数量,而不是diet
E 句子主干为 vitamin E increases the development…

Astronomical occurrences can be viewed in a religious light; many people are known to rekindle their faith after the observation of a meteor shower.
A) many people are known to rekindle their faith after the observation of a meteor shower.
B) many people are known to have rekindled their faith once a meteor shower has been observed.
C) there are many known people who have rekindled their faith once a meteor shower has been observed.
D) after a meteor shower is observed, there are many people who have rekindled their faith
E) rekindling their faith is known for many people after a meteor shower is observed.
B
Since people are known to have done something previously (rekindle their faith),我们就不能像选择A那样使用现在时。
另一点是,选项B和C中的once可能被用来表示as soon as 或者 at that very moment。
C:many known people = many famous people,改变了句子意思

The emerging field of architectural climatology centers on the potential of as-yet-undeveloped architecture and landscaping to alter, redirect, or dissipate weather systems; for instance, hurricanes prevented from forming by artificial "reefs" of precisely shaped marine platforms.
A)systems; for instance, hurricanes prevented from forming by artificial "reefs" of precisely shaped marine platforms
B)systems; for example, artificial "reefs" of precisely shaped marine platforms that could prevent hurricanes from forming
C)systems, such as hurricanes, which artificial "reefs" of precisely shaped marine platforms prevent forming
D)systems, such as artificial "reefs" of precisely shaped marine platforms that can prevent hurricanes from forming
E)systems; for example, hurricanes could be prevented from forming by artificial "reefs" of precisely shaped marine platforms
E
artificial "reefs" of precisely shaped marine platforms是一整块内容,其中reefs是主要名词,如果用that指代就可能指代错

Day111
1.(101)Because the body adapts more readily to lengthened days than to shortening them is why most people experience less severe “jet lag” when traveling westward than when traveling eastward.

(A) Because the body adapts more readily to lengthened days than to shortening them is why most people experience less severe “jet lag” when traveling

(B) The body adapts more readily to lengthened days than to shortened days, with the result that most people experience less severe “jet lag” when traveling

(C) Because the body adapts more readily to lengthened days than to shortened ones, so most people experience “jet lag” less severely when they travel

(D) Because the body adapts more readily to lengthening days than to shortening them, most people experience less severe “jet lag” when they travel

(E) The body adapts more readily to lengthening days than to shortening them, so most people, as a result, who experience “jet lag” less severely when traveling
B  这道题主要考平行, 后半部分有个开放平行 than 排除了CD, 然后前面的more than 排除了A,E我觉得派出的点可能是ppl as a result 位置有点问题。
2.(102)Human activity on the continent of Antarctica is regulated by the Antarctic Treaty, which was signed in 1959 by 12 countries and prohibits any military activity, supports scientific research, and is giving protection to the continent's ecozone.

A. which was signed in 1959 by 12 countries and prohibits any military activity, supports scientific research, and is giving protection to the continent's ecozone
B. which was signed in 1959 by 12 countries and prohibits any military activity, supports scientific research, and protects the continent's ecozone
C. which, had being signed in 1959 by 12 countries, prohibits any military activity, supports scientific research, and protects the continent's ecozone
D. which was signed in 1959 by 12 countries prohibiting any military action, and supporting scientific research and the continent’s resource protection
E. having been signed in 1959 by 12 countries and prohibits any military activity, supports scientific research, and protects the continent's ecozone

3.(103)Recent studies suggest that an intake of vitamin E in excess of that found naturally in a balanced diet may actually increase the risk of developing certain illnesses, despite the claims of thousands of people who swear by it as a dietary supplement.

(A) Recent studies suggest that an intake of vitamin E in excess of that found naturally in a balanced diet may actually increase the risk of developing certain illnesses

(C) Certain illnesses may be at a higher risk of development if vitamin E is taken in excess of a balanced diet, according to recent studies

(E) Vitamin E, recent studies suggest, if in excess of that found naturally in a balanced diet, may actually increase the development risk of certain illnesses

4.(104)Noting that the price of oil and other fuel components, a major factor in the cost structure of an airline, have risen and will continue to rise, the company management was pessimistic about their outlook for the upcoming quarter.

(A) have risen and will continue to rise, the company management was pessimistic about their

(E) Corleone, famous because of “The Godfather,” was the town that the ailing mobster came to take refuge in because it was near to those he most trusted

6.(106)A new study published by the Journal of the American Medical Association has found that women who exercise regularly and maintained a healthy diet are at low risk of sudden cardiac death during physical exertion that is moderate to vigorous in nature.

(D) maintained a healthy diet were at low risk of sudden cardiac death during moderate to vigorous physical exertion
(E) maintain a healthy diet are at low risk of sudden cardiac death during physical exertion that is moderate to vigorous in nature

7.(107)Not only did Christopher Columbus refuse to accept the conventional wisdom that the earth was flat, he also pressed relentlessly for royal backing for his voyages, finally receiving approval and financing from King Ferdinand of Spain in 1492 after several rejections.

(A) Not only did Christopher Columbus refuse to accept the conventional wisdom that the earth was flat, he also pressed relentlessly for royal support for his westward voyage to Asia, finally receiving
(B) Not only did Christopher Columbus refuse to accept the conventional wisdom that the earth was flat, also pressing relentlessly for royal support for his westward voyage to Asia; he finally received

D 这题not only… but (also) 的搭配和平行就可以排除

C)already won twice as many games this year as it did last year, even if
D)has already won twice as many games this year as did last year, even though
E)has already won twice as many games this year as last year, even though
E 首先是even though 然后用完成时,然后as many as  这个要确认一下
9.(109)Astronomical occurrences can be viewed in a religious light; many people are known to rekindle their faith after the observation of a meteor shower.

9.A 不确定

10.(110)The emerging field of architectural climatology centers on the potential of as-yet-undeveloped architecture and landscaping to alter, redirect, or dissipate weather systems; for instance, hurricanes prevented from forming by artificial "reefs" of precisely shaped marine platforms.
