Agricultural societies cannot exist without staple crops. 这个题A选项的说法很绕。

我认为题干的逻辑缺陷是，如果有没被记录的staple crops有被introduce,那么就不能用yams&rice来推测agricultrual的最早时间。所以assumption应该填补这个逻辑漏洞。

A的意思：（我觉得应该是）当rice and yams引进的时候，western Africa的人并没有生产出staple crops（也就说明了yams and rice是最早的staple crops，可以用来推测农耕社会的时间），但是，A选项的 that they stopped cultivating 就很奇怪，这是一个定语从句吧，但是，翻译起来就特别奇怪了：当y,r引进的时候，人们没有生产出他们停止种植的staple crops。

求解答。我觉得A翻译起来特别奇怪。

翻译出来的句子并不能看懂。。。感觉突然质疑自己的语文了。

人们在南非没有发展出一种(在有了大米和土豆后就停止种植的)农作物。
括号里是形容词。

就是说，比如以前大家都吃小米，在这个国家导入了大米和土豆以后，大家就觉得小米不好吃，就不再种植了。
这就是，(在有了大米和土豆后就停止种植的)农作物，相当于上面例子中的小米。

是这样的，我能翻译A选项，但是翻译出来的A，和我理解的本题该有的逻辑漏洞，我觉得对不上号。lisiberry，你看看我一楼写的困惑呢，其实我的困惑不是能不能翻译出来A，是我觉得翻译出来的A和逻辑没关系呢。
