檢討題目時GOOGLE所有網上可搜到的解釋 還是沒有找到能夠合理說服自己的解釋
大多的解釋覺得都是依著答案去解的或有些自相矛盾
只好上來求問

首先想問 (a),(b),(e) 選項是否因that 和 what 指代 diet(因為人可以吃diet 不能吃calories), 所以會有拿calories跟diet比較的錯誤.
這樣想應該蠻合邏輯和句意
但再對照正確答案(d), a diet that has at least 30 percent fewer calories than (a diet) they would normally eat but that otherwise
難道就不會有拿calories跟diet比較的錯誤嗎? 這樣就說不通了
正確選項裡的but that 平行沒有理解問題, 主要是上面比較對象的問題

還有想問 (a),(e) 選項是否可以用which 不可指代代詞(that)下去解, 記得以前有做到題目說不可以用一個代詞去指代另一個代詞.

麻煩大神指教了!!!

我觉得b的比较是对的呢。只是d 的平行句式胜出！。
d  Diet that {(has at least 30 percent fewer calories) than (they would normally eat)}

我是覺得用正確選項d的 diet比diet模式下去看, 真的無法說a/b/e 的比較是不對的, 不然正確選項也一樣不對
最後用其他部分+寫法好壞是可以趨近d選項
但主要是想問這題是否可用比較對象下去解? 和如何解?

之前也有看到這個解釋
但還是無法理解為何D)就可以看成diet比diet,不會有拿calories跟diet比較的錯誤
但換成A/B/E 就變成拿calories跟diet比較
這個說不通呀!

還原整句話：
a diet that has at least 30 percent fewer calories than (a diet that has at least 30 percent calories) they would normally eat ...=>不同的diet(比較對象)，在比所包含的calories(基準)
diet和calories到底會不會有歧異？（我把that拿掉，以便清楚表示）
i). a diet has at least 30 percent fewer calories than a diet has at least 30 percent calories=>原合理句意
ii) a diet has at least 30 percent fewer calories than calories have at least 30 percent calories.=>diet和calories(比較對象)，在比所包含的calories(基準)：不合理，且也不能夠把calories省略。
由於省略的緣故，所以對象一定是diet相比，基準必定是比calories含量多少。
因此，沒有歧異的問題。

了解,所以正確選項是以calories當比較基準,diet為比較對象,所以可比
那想請問A/B/E 的比較也可以用上面方式下去比嗎？ 還是會有比較歧義呢？

這題我看到that which之後，就先排除a/e，因為that which=what, redundancy。若是不知道該規則，那依照比較原則和句意，that=diet且用they would normally eat來修飾，用以區分跟前面的diet之不同。因此，若把that看成一般名詞，後面的which看似作為限定修飾語：1. GMAT允許的限定關代是that，那that that是甚麼東西？(因此，這也是that which不對的邏輯)；2. which作為後面子句的受詞，亦可以省略。
至於what應該是我們在前面找不到相同概念名詞時，又必須使用名詞子句下，跑出來的新概念；因此，如果比較b&d：
b. with at least 30 percent fewer calories than what(=a diet with at least 30 percent calorie) they would normally eat though otherwise it
d. that has at least 30 percent fewer calories than (a diet that has at least 30 percent calories) they would normally eat but that otherwise
D明顯比B好，較簡潔也沒有歧異。


其實我在判別b上面，也沒有辦法馬上就用what刪除，我是繼續再比後面的and+though結構來確認。
ａ ,but that otherwise contains...：應該和前面某個子句平行，前面唯一的子句為主要子句Laboratory rats and mice live up to 40 percent longer than usual；老鼠活多長跟diet含維他命，句意不平行。也可以用that單獨指代diet來判別。
b. though otherwise it contains...：應該有一個主要子句，前面唯一的主要子句Laboratory rats and mice live up to 40 percent longer than usual；老鼠活多長跟diet含維他命，句意不平行。
c. though otherwise contains...：若看作修飾that has at least 30 percent fewer calories的形容詞子句，則 though otherwise contains：1. 沒有主要子句、2. that單獨指代；若修飾前面的主要子句Laboratory rats and mice live up to 40 percent longer than usual；老鼠活多長跟diet含維他命，句意不平行。
*主要子句Laboratory rats and mice live up to 40 percent longer than usual其實是被when fed...來修飾。
