OG 解释是D选项会让人觉得situated underground……是在修饰后面的raider ants，然而我认为如果题干中下划线没有包括逗号的话会有这样的歧义，然而实际上逗号也被替换了，也就是说D选项nests后面是没有逗号的，这样的话situated肯定是修饰的前面的事物啊。是我的理解有误还是有别的更好地理由把D推翻？请前辈们解惑~

我觉得你说得对，D选项中 in having nests应该是往前修饰，不可能往后修饰raider ants。

所以这个选项的OG解释是错的。之后你会发现很多OG解释都是错的！！！所以我建议，碰到没把握的选项，最靠谱的办法还是上论坛！

另外，这题D选项unlike N。 in doing这个结构是绝对错误哦！

可是我觉得og是想说unlike ...in....，表示不一样在于xxx，在于的就是in后面的东西，所以说og这样解释可能有他的道理

目前查到的最合理解释：
in + VERBing is an ADVERB.
Generally, in + VERBing serves to modify the VERB IN THE FOLLOWING CLAUSE.
(D)... in having nests, situated underground or in pieces of wood, raider ants make a portable nest.
Here, in having seems to modify make -- the action performed by raider ants.
这也解释了in having ...为什么不是修饰名词leaf cutters and most other ants,因为副词不能修饰名词

Since a VERBing modifier implies CONCURRENT action, the following meaning is conveyed:
When raider ants MAKE A PORTABLE NEST, they are simultaneously HAVING NESTS SITUATED UNDERGROUND OR IN PIECES OF WOOD.
显然前后矛盾。排除选项D

明白了你的意思，in doing这里的解释我很赞同，还想确认一下你的意思是不是

The meaning is, that the difference between raider ants and most other ants is that raider ants tend to have nests situated underground, so it deviates the original meaning of the sentence and we can drop it.
是这样吗？

是的。the wrong answers have all been actually wrong -- either because they were grammatically wrong, or because something about their meaning wasn't reasonable.

这道题也可以用平行结构来排除D。comparisons involve parallel structure
Unlike ....balabala... raider ants make aportable nest subj+v
D  doesn’t make a parallel comparison ; C ...whose nest(sub) are(verb) parallel constructure
