的确有点极端，不过读了一阵才发现自己不合适真的会挺胸闷的

Interestingly, the post has been so thought-provoking. I assume that the poster is frustrated over his/er PhD experience, which has led him/er to be disillusioned about his future career prospects. However, since this is a deeply personal matter, he or she is not supposed to make such a statement that reflects his/er extreme views on a PhD.

Note that the poster registered here on June 29, 2013. Thus the post itself is suspicious. Otherwise, we expect him/er to show up and clarify things.

I agree. We had better leave the debate where it is now.

By the way, I suspect that in the Chinese context there is not much correlation between the reputation of one's undergraduate institution and his/er inteligence. A newspaper report revealed that it is 60 times more difficult for a high school student in Henan Province to be admitted to a top university than his/er counterpart in Beijing, everything else being equal.

The poster made a hypothetical case of himself or herself and, by doing so, made some strongly biased, inaccurate remarks. The ensuing discussion has gone in various directions but nowhere at all. Let's nort go further on the topic.
