我自己选的答案也是B，但是OG在B的解释中特别强调，less total fat than livestock和 less total fat than do livestock的表述，either would be correct here。
我想问的是，为什么A中的 do livestck也对，do起什么作用？
我上网查过这道题，前人们讨论过do应该改成does，但是我依旧不懂为什么要加do（或者does）。

求指教，求讨论

把省略的部分补出来：wild animals have less total fat than livestock fed on grain does
曼哈顿提到，如果被比较的对象太长，为了避免头重脚轻，就要把助动词提前。

例句 I eat more apples than Obama, the president of the United States, do.
为了避免头重脚轻，通常改成 I eat more apples than do Obama, the president of the United States.

在这个题中livestock fed on grain太长了，所以可以把does提到前面。

那这样我就有另外一个问题想请教你。wild animals have less total fat than livestock fed on grain does中的does是不是等于 has the total fat。即wild animals have less total fat than livestock fed on grain has the total fat。然后does代替has那一串。
你大概听懂我在说什么了么…

A中的do不能改成does，因为livestock是复数名词
Livestock：表示 农场里饲养的牲畜，是一个集体名词，当作复数名词，作主语时，用复数谓语。
