Tom Bradley was mayor of Los Angeles from 1973 to 1993, an era when the city had transformed from a collection of suburban neighborhoods to the second-largest city in the United States.
A
an era when the city had transformed
B
an era during which the city was transformed
C
an era that transformed it
D
during which era the city transformed
E
during which the city was transformed
我的想法如下:from 1973 to 1993是时间修饰,mayor of LA 是从属结构,which 修饰跳过时间,确定为 LA。

during which 中如果 which 修饰 LA的话句意很奇怪,during LA 是什么意思,during指”在某个时间段中“吧。
A
an era when the city had transformed-如果去掉an era句子就变成了:“Tom Bradley ....... from 1973 to 1993, when the city had transformed from a collection of suburban neighborhoods to the second-largest city in the United States.”,我记得Ron的视频有讲过when是一个非常尴尬的词,它有可能会让后面的东西变成一个条件,这个句子现在的样子就有了歧义--【当】城市发生转变的时候,TB是市长 ,那言下之意就有可能是城市没转变的话他就不是了。
B
an era during which the city was transformed, 去掉an era就是E啊,楼上讲了我就不啰嗦了。
C
an era that transformed it,去掉an era,句子变成:“Tom Bradley was mayor of Los Angeles from 1973 to 1993, that transformed it from a collection of suburban neighborhoods to the second-largest city in the United States.”
