大家爭論已久且用了很多帖子但還是無定論的答案
there were後面到底指誰?computer?pupils?比例?
終於在ETS的回覆中有結果了

這是台灣一個論壇裡 "魚"nn好不容易千催萬催才問來的

可是看了ETS官方回覆覺得更奇怪了~~ 前面是...there is now one microcomputer... 這個還比4年前多四倍喔! 那為什麼後面的microcomputer是複數?? 前面都用 is... microcomputer..了，後面是前面的1/4可是卻用了 were microcomputers... 這不是很怪嗎? 還是我哪裡有了迷思呢? 請各位NN指點~~

偶觉得解释是对的。偶的理解是：现在是32人一台，四年前是128一台，现在是原来的4倍，但是，这是个全国性的调查（未划线部门给出的信息）所以：

四年前不可能有只有一台电脑，也不会只有128个学生，当然都得用复数了.

再进一步，现在平均每32个人用1个计算机（单数），是4年前12800个学生用100个计算机（那时候）的四倍，这里的“计算机”和“学生”是不是还得用复数呢？
