Darden's China Scholarship（DCS）: B-school第一个由中国学生和校友创办的奖学金。作为第一个受益者，我很荣幸向大家介绍DCS，希望能有更多的朋友将来受益。

DCS今年在Darden创立，从idea到最后实现一共只用了1个月时间，得到Darden在校中国学生和毕业不久的Alumni大力支持，使得这个有独特代表意义的奖学金顺利建立，为今后成为所有中国学生入学Darden就能享受奖学金提供了良好的开始。感谢所有参与创建的Darden学生，校友，特别感谢为第一届奖学金创办委员会的Liu Shawn, Zhang Dong.

以下是DCS的一些介绍。

Project Abstract

The Darden China Scholarship Fundraising Team seeks a grant to create scholarships for prospective MBA applicants from the Greater China Region. The DCS represents the school’s Chinese student community and our potential sponsors — Darden Chinese alumni.

Goals & Objectives

The primary goal of the scholarship is to support talented MBA applicants from the Greater China Region and enhance the Darden brand in the Asia Pacific. Our other goals include:

• Scholarships can help talented Chinese candidates with financial difficulty


• Uniting our alumni network in Greater China and the US.


• Gaining publicity and recognition for our sponsors and school.


• Highlighting Darden teaching and research.

Qualification of Recipients

The scholarships are designed for Chinese applicants who are admitted by the Darden Admissions Office; no other students outside Chinese nationality and residency will be initially considered for the scholarship. The admitted Chinese candidates will receive recommendations from the Darden Chinese Alumni Committee. The Darden Financial Aid Scholarship committee will make the final decision about DCS recipients.

After intense discussion with potential donors and current students, DCS recipients should meet one of the following conditions:

1.        First preference will be given to applicants who graduated from public colleges or universities in China or lived in China for at least 10 years, who have demonstrated academic excellence and leadership in their profession and their social communities, and who face financial difficulties in attaining an MBA from the laceName w:st="on">DardenlaceName> laceType w:st="on">SchoollaceType>.

2.        If there are no applicants who are fully qualified in the first^t requirement, DCS would prefer Asian applicants who graduated from public colleges or universities in China or lived in China for at least 10 years; and who face financial difficulties funding the program at Darden.

3.        If there are no qualified applicants based on the 1^st and 2^nd requirements, DCS welcomes all the Darden applicants from the rest of the world.

这个奖学金的数量在哪各范围呢？

如果没有奖学金，darden提供的loan可以cover所有费用吗？（包括学费、生活费、杂费等）
