【逵逵写作文13.0-TWE137】

137 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? High schools should allow students to study the courses that students want to study. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

The issue whether high schools should authorize students to study the courses that students want to study has received a deep degree of attention since rejuvenating the nation through science and education is the national strategy and the government’ most important mission. When faced with such an issue, different people have different answers due to their various individual experience and personal preference. Some people think this is a good idea to let students do so, but others disagree. As far as I am concerned, I should say I am a strong proponent of the latter. And I will elaborate my view as follows.

Firstly, if honestly conceived, a tendency in most people is to try to avid the important and dwell on the trivial. And in recognition of the universal principle that the more meaningful one thing is, the more difficult to comprehend and deal with it, it is easy for us to understand why some students give up some vital courses. Take some of my classmates as example; they chose inconsequential courses to offset the lost credits by giving up the mathematic study. Nobody wants to fail in schoolwork, but if students do not solidify their knowledge foundation, such as the mathematics, how can they survive in such a fiercely competitive society? The schools have to shape the students’ skills in a practical method, but not just following their own inclination.

Secondly, as to students in high schools, I do not think they are wise enough to choose the courses that can optimize their study. Academic staffs are all trained formally and they do their best to make a well organized curriculum. Thanks for my teachers’ rational choices of courses that I learn better than I could do it by myself. That is a case in point that study need to be systematically planned. Moreover, it is possible that without careful planning and prudent execution, allowing students to study courses they like will cause confusion in the operation of daily teaching.

Admittedly, there is need for reforming methods of teaching. The concept of “character education” has achieved certain success. Authorizing students to study courses chosen by their own mind, to some extent, elates students’ spirits. But in my personal point of view, the solution to this issue should turn out to be more effective and rational.

In sum, from the aspects I have mentioned above, we can easily reach the conclusion that while the fact that allowing students to study course that they want to study has some advantages is hardly in doubt, some critical questions remain. Hence, this matter should be carefully thought about.

The issue whether high schools should authorize students to study the courses that students want to study has received a deep degree of attention since rejuvenating the nation through science and education isbecame(过去式) the national strategy and the government’ most important mission. (好像和国策无关?而是和教育体制改革有关?)When faced with such an issue, different people have different answers due to their various individual experience and personal (repetitive)preference. Some people think this it is a good idea to let empower students to do so, but others disagree. As far as I am concerned, I should say I am a strong proponent of the latter. And I will elaborate my view as follows.(你把前者的句子写了那么长,却又支持后者...)

Firstly, if honestly conceived, a tendency in most people is to try to (repetitive)avid the important and dwell on the trivial. (this sentence is not a topic sentence) And in recognition of the universal principle that the more meaningful one thing is, the more difficult to comprehend and deal with it, it is easy for us to understand why some students give up some vital courses. Take some of my classmates as an example; they chose inconsequential courses to offset the lost credits by(个人认为of) giving up the mathematic study. Nobody wants to fail in schoolwork, but if students do not solidify their knowledge foundation, such as the mathematics, how can they survive in such a fiercely competitive society?(从Nobody wants to fail in schoolwork这句看,结论首先是academically fail, then "can not survive in a society") The schools haveservies to shapeimprove the students’ skills(knowledge, skills and abilities-there are so-called KSA,凡是和一个沾边,就写上三个,取巧,呵呵) in a practical method, but not just following their own inclination.

Secondly, as to students in high schools, I do not think it is unwise to have these juveniles they are wise enough (说得狠了一点)to choose the courses that can optimize their study. Academic staffs are all formally trained formally (好像这种短副词一般习惯在前面)and they do their best are experienced to make a well organized curriculum. Thanks (这个thanks 比你14篇用的好)for my teachers’ rational choices arrangement of for courses, that I learn better than I could if I do it by myself. That is a case in point that study need to be systematically planned. Moreover, it is possible that without careful planning and prudent execution, allowing students to study courses they like will cause confusion in the operation of daily teaching.
