我的第一篇习作,花了2个小时,请大家批评指教。TWE010

TWE010 When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success." Do you agree or disagree with the quotation above? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your position.

======================================================================

Everyday there are people succeed, and there are people failed. I think it is the hard work that is the foundation of success, and luck is also indispensable for success.

No pains, no gains. If success could be easily accessed without any effort, success is not truly success. For example, if all athletes attending the Olympic Games get a golden medal, the golden medal is not an honor of the winner. In fact, it is just because there are hundreds of top athletes from all over the world to compete for the only champion, the champion represent the greatest success of an athlete can ever get, and the athlete can only be the people with hard training. Another instance can also illustrate this point. Kai-Fu Lee, corporate vice president at Microsoft Corp., succeeds in the speech-recognition area and developed the world's first speaker-independent continuous speech-recognition system. Although he is a very smart man, he also studied sixteen hours a day, seven days a week, and continued for five PhD candidate years. Without his hard work, no matter how wisdom he is, he can not succeed. Harder we work, nearer success is to us.

With hard work, we also need luck to avoid failure. For instance, Kai-Fu Lee developed a new method, which is not comprehended by his supervisor, to do his research. Finally his new method is proved more effective and he succeeds. If his method was unluckily not reachable to his target, he would spend more time to accomplish his research. Luck helps us to get success more quickly.

Admittedly, some people, such as members of the royal household, succeed without any effort. And there are some cases, such as lottery, in which lucky is the decision factor for winner. But that is not the success we appreciate and treasure.

To sum up, I insist hard work is the main reason for one’s success, and lucky can make it sooner.

good introduction. simple, but theme is strong and clear.

excellent point. but it is a little long. considering the whole essay, it is better to use one or concise to rewrite.

With hard work, we also need luck to avoid failure. For instance, Kai-Fu Lee developed a new method, which is not comprehended by his supervisor, to do his research. Finally his new method is proved more effective, and he succeeds. If his method was unluckily not reachable to his target, he would spend more time to accomplish his research. good point.

Admittedly, some people, such as members of the royal household, succeed without any effort. And there are some cases, such as lottery, in which lucky is the decision factor for winner. But that is not the success we appreciate and treasure.(it is not the point you want to express)

To sum up, I insist that hard work is the main reason for one’s success, and lucky can make it sooner.(too weak)

in general, it is a good essay. it is worth two hours. in the first point, I suggest that you give up the information about OLYMPIC. if you analysize  Kai-Fu Lee , it will be a very impressive essay. and you need strenthen your conclusion.

good job.

practice makes perfect.

十分感谢guandream和lingchen33的指点。我进行了一些修改。

Everyday people succeed, and people fail. It is such a common thing that we seldom think twice about it. But it is also an important question worthy of consideration in our daily time, because analysis of which will certainly benefit us for our life. Basing my conclusion on the facts, I think that hard work is the foundation of success, and luck is also indispensable for success.

No pains, no gains. The road to triumph is always covered with sweat and loneliness. For example, Kai-Fu Lee, corporate vice president at Microsoft Corp., succeeds in the speech-recognition area and developed the world's first speaker-independent continuous speech-recognition system. Although he is a very smart man, he also studied sixteen hours a day, seven days a week, and continued for five PhD candidate years. Without this hard work, no matter how wisdom he is, he can not succeed. It is the key to great achievement. And harder we work, nearer success is to us.

With hard work, we also need luck to avoid failure. For instance, Kai-Fu Lee developed a new method, which is not comprehended by his supervisor, to do his research. But he kept going.  Finally his new method is proved more effective, and he succeeds. If his method was unluckily not reachable to his target, he would have to spend more years to accomplish his research. Luck helped him to success.

Admittedly, some people, such as members of the royal household, succeed without any effort. And there are some cases, such as lottery, in which lucky is the decision factor for winner. But we ordinary person have little opportunity to realize our success in that way.

To sum up, I insist that, for ordinary person, hard work is the main reason for one’s success, and he/she should continue it relentlessly. On time he/she will succeed. And if he/she is lucky, that day will come sooner.

首先要尽量避免语法硬伤 然后再完善语言表达

我的天,还有这么多的问题?害怕ing。多谢pengstone指正。

我又改了。嘿嘿。

Everyday people succeed, and people fail. It is such a common thing that we seldom think twice about it. But it is also an important question worthy of consideration in our daily time, because analysis of reasons for successes will certainly benefit us for our life. Basing my conclusion on the facts, I think that hard work is the foundation of success, and luck is also indispensable for success.

No pains, no gains. The road to triumph is always covered with sweat and loneliness. For example, Kai-Fu Lee, corporate vice president at Microsoft Corp., succeeded in the speech-recognition area and developed the world's first speaker-independent continuous speech-recognition system. Very smart as he is, he studied sixteen hours a day, seven days a week, and continued for five PhD candidate years. Without this hard work, no matter how wisdom he is, he would not succeed. The harder we work, the nearer the success is to us.

To success, we also need luck because luck is success’s coadjutant. For instance, Kai-Fu Lee developed a new method, which was not comprehended by his supervisor, to do his research. But he kept going.  Finally his new method was proved more effective, and he succeeded. If his method was unluckily not reachable to his target, he would have to spend more years to accomplish his research. Luck helped him to success.

Admittedly, some people, such as members of the royal household, succeed without any effort. And there are some cases, such as lottery, in which luck is the decisive factor for winning. But ordinary person have little opportunity to realize their success in that way.

To sum up, I insist that, for ordinary person, hard work is the main reason for one’s success, and he/she should continue it relentlessly. On time he/she will succeed. And if he/she is lucky, that day will come sooner.
