#130:We can learn more about a society by observing how its people spend their leisure time than by observing them at work. Yes and No. Yes: 1) People after work truely reflects who they are rather than who they have to be. Hence, the afterwork life shows more about a society. They dress what they like rather than following dressing codes. They do what they want to do rather than what they are required to do. They do culturely related activities rather than profit oriented business. 2) Working life is more stringint than casual life. There are a lot of limitations and changes according to business environment rather than national culture. N  rofessional life is interact with afterwork life. It's difficult to see an English don't drink afternoon tea even when they are working. It's their culture. Similarly, you rarely see Germans late. It's their culture and it's their life. |
