我选的是D。

选D的原因在于这个选项中提到的controversial。

D. call attention to the most controversial aspect of all the current theories regarding the Pleistocene extinctions

回到原文中定位如下；

Martin’s thesis depends on coinciding

dates for the arrival of humans and the

decline of large animal species, and

Krech, though aware that the dates

(35) are controversial, does not challenge

them。

也就是说M认为人类到达的时间也就是动物开始灭绝的时间，而K认为动物开始的时间早于人类到达的时间(只是没有进一步对这点深究)。而W提出了对这个时间先后的质疑，而yet引导的是新的发现，就是人类到达的时间即不是正好在动物灭绝开始的时间，但也不是在那之后的时间。所以我选了D。只是对这个most有些拿不准，因为在原文中找不到比较的依据。

而对于排除E，我是对于题目中的positions regarding the role of Paleoindians in the Pleistocene extinctions有疑问。M的postion应该有两点，一是动物的灭绝是由人类的到达造成的，二，动物的灭绝和气候变化没有减。而K的position是：一，将动物灭绝的原因全归于人是不正确的，因为在一些人未到达的地区也有动物灭绝的现象；二，但是人类的确引起了一些地区性的灭绝状况。三，在那次动物灭绝期发生过大的气候变化，因为气候变化有可能是引起动物灭绝的主要原因。 White并没有对这些论点全部否定，他提到的只是对于M通过时间的巧合而推断说人类是原因，以及W注意到了时间并不一致但没对此进一频道研究而已。 yet后补充了关于时间不巧合的根据--人是在动物发生灭绝之前就到达了那一地区。所以我看不出来为什会要选E。

in my opinion, "yet" is opposite of the P and K, however, it doesn't necessary means that W is totally correct. besides, there is nothing talking about w's opinion.

look at the choice E,
provide support for White’s questioning of both Martin’s and Krech’s positions regarding the role of Paleoindians in the Pleistocene extinctions

it seems all the key words are correct

The answer D, as
far as I answerstand, has two mistakes:

The firsr is: most
controversial , it is can not find any support in the passage.

The second is :
all current theories, in the passage, the author listed three theories, but
that not mean all the theories are here.

I think the
question in the reading department is so strange to answer, even though I understand
the whole meaning of the passage, I till can not select the right answers.

In this passage,
answer E is not the best answer, but others can be excluded.
