Rochester还是 BC,请牛牛们给点意见

Boston College: MSF/MBA, dual degree USD 24 K/year

Rochester: MBA, USD 13 K/year.

Seems that both are relatively strong in finance, in which i would like to continue my career. Rochester's ranking is higher than Boston College, but BC's location is better.

Btw, I don't know why when i talk abut Rochester with my American friends, they all say that it is in the middle of no where

Concerning the job opportunity after graduation, which is better? please give me your suggestion.

Thanks

多谢南瓜JJ,可是Rochester 的Finance 好像很牛的样子,在他们的 placement statistics 上看到了好多大牛公司的名字,这里有没有在Simon或Simon 毕业的牛牛啊,能给讲讲情况么?

Well Rochester is indeed not close to the big cities, but it is not that far away neither. It takes 6 hours to drive to NYC and Boston, 7 hours to DC, and 3 hours to Toronto. However, Simon is 10 minutes away from Rochester International Airport(ROC), which has low fare shuttle planes flying to NYC and DC 4-5 times per day and usually costs 100 bucks round trip. Simon is very strong in finance. Sorry, do not have too much idea about Boston College. But overall BC is great school.

刚刚看了一个BW上的帖子,也在讨论Rochester or BC,好像也是难分高下的样子,转一下,供大家参考:

argument 1:

"i think what should be discussed is the opportunities the schools give more than their locations...

dont get stuck on the locations, just try to find which has  better placement records...

Fordham is much much closer to Wall Street but noone compares it with the other schools i've listed above.

In my opinion if it were the case; MIT vs Rochester or Princeton vs Rochester there would be no need to argue. But when it comes to BU vs Roch. or BCollege vs Roch. we can't find the answer...

Do you believe that you know the answer?"

Argument 2:

"Why is it easier for Rochester students to visit NYC? Boston is closer and has many more transportation options. Notwithstanding the fact that companies are very likely to visit Boston on recruiting trips because they can hit multiple schools..."

Sigh, kind of frustrated by the multiple choice question

Go to boston, Rochester's location is not as good. You want a job, don't stuck yourself in the middle of nowhere. Trust me, when it's close to graduation, you will know the difference. Constantly travel to big cities for job fair/interview  is a pain.
